Original Description:
An attic find from Montana.  
Model 1872 US Army Cavalry Officer's Sword, Scabbard and Leather Belt Rig.  This one shows true campaign trail use, plenty of dents and dings on the scabbard, plus very slight bend in both it and blade toward the tip.  Includes an original leather Sword Belt Mount rig, that is marked "ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL"  and "LL 36"   
Brass surfaces have a pleasing patina.  The upper loop or strap ring is missing.  The ...blade has scratches but pleasing surface.  No major rust.  It is marked "Frank De Caro"  NY near the base of the blade.  NO RESERVE!!!
