Up for auction is this original Import U.S. Model 1872 Cavalry Saber / Sword with Scabbard.

32" single-edged blade with 21.5" fuller.  .75" wide at ricasso, 37.75" overall length. Three-branch brass guard with wire-wrapped leather grip.  Plated steel scabbard.  Unmarked blade with floral motifs on guard.

Condition: USED
Blade is somewhat shiny with scattered rust frosting.  Blade is loose in hilt. Some peeling of leather and loss of finish. Mixed ...flaking of scabbard plating with brown coloration under exposed areas.
