Very nice Armor Bronze Clad (National Metalizing Company, New York) Sculpture/ single bookend Designed by Slavatore Morani, Signed onside along with Shield mark and date of c. 1914 on opposite side. Measures 8”tall x 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.
Very nice patina. Has a mount in the bottom. Can seeoriginal wood on bottom along with mount holes.
Small dents on hand, nose slightly flattened. Other smalls areas of damage, see pics.

Born in Calabria, Ita...ly, Mr. Morani studied sculpture foreight years at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples and for six years at theAcademy of Fine Arts in Rome. He came to the United States in 1905.
In this country, his work has been exhibited in the NationalAcademy in Washington, and the National Academy of Design in Manhattan.
Mr. Morani had donated small bronze busts of President andMrs. Franklin R. Roosevelt to the White House, where they remained on displayuntil the President's death. They are now in the Roosevelt Memorial Shrine atHyde Park.
