This handsome ENGLISH BULLDOG by legendary JB Jennings Brothers is brimming with detail... weighs in at nearly 3 1/2lbs... stands over 5" tall and 8 3/4" in length... and beams with tons of one-of-a-kind BULLDOG CHARACTER
He may be a century-old... fully rendered in careful detail true to one of the rarest collectibles forged by the long-gone legendary JB Jennings Brothers Mfg. Co. formerly of Bridgeport, CT. (See the turn-of-the-century factory in our photos)
You can’t mistake... this handsome fella (see details... he is a clearly a dog/male) for any other breed.
He's perfectly muscular with a wrinkled face and a distinctive pushed-in nose... wide heads and shoulders... thick folds of skin on the brow... wide-set eyes and short muzzle. Accurately rendered right down to the nose roll... hanging skin under the neck... drooping lips and upturned jaw. All this... plus a hugely-appropriate right-sized massive studded collar.

Jennings Brothers Manufacturing Company began their manufactory in Bridgeport, Connecticut. They continued business into the early 1900s. The company produced some of the finest crafted art metal pieces ever made during this Arts and Crafts time period.Their creations included high grade bookends, candlesticks, jewelry boxes, lamps and figurative items. Not lending themselves to mass production, their methods were exacting and painstakingly detailed. They relied upon the expertise of artists, sculptors and metal smiths. Even today, Jennings Brothers metal works of art are highly prized.
