Original Description:
Being offered is a nice old antique Vanuatu war club from the Papua New Guinea region.  This club measures 38 3/4” in total length.  It has a wonderful chocolate brown patina and would date to the mid to late 19th century.  Features a mushroom shaped cap with an intact carving section below this mushroom shape.  The wood haft of great color and shows the unevenness from being all hand carved.  The very bottom of the club with a nice spinning top shape.  ...There was a carved section just above this but unfortunately most of this section has broken off.  Happened a long time ago given the patina of the exposed wood.  All in all, a very nice Vanuatu club.  Please e-mail with any questions.  Please view my other auctions for a great variety of swords, daggers and tribal art.
