Being offered is a nice old antique war club originating from the Malaita Islands which is part of the Solomon Island chain. This club measures 40 1/4” in total length. It has developed a nice dark brown patina and would date to the late 19th century. The very top has side wings carved to give the cross section a nice flare at that point. You have circle carvings along with zig zag tava tava carvings. The club has a prominent ridge line running from this... top section down to the round grip end. This gives the club a sort of apple seed cross section. The shaft narrows just above the two bell shaped rings just above the round grip end. Nice geometry all around. Club has some dings and scuffs which is to be expected of one this age. A lovely club overall. Please e-mail with any questions.
