2 Antique Silver Child's Thimbles Germany * Circa 1850-1900 One of these solid silver thimbles has a lovely scrolled leaf design with little birds on the band. It has an early (c.1850) German silver hallmark, "13" which means 13 lothiges (812/1000 pure silver). It also has the 8 petaled flower/star design on top which is probably the mark of the Gabler company of Schorndorf, Germany. It is gilded inside and is about an American child's size 5 (13.4 mm diameter opening).The other th...imble has an embossed band and is marked "800" for 800/1000 pure silver. It's about a child's size 4 (12.5 mm diameter opening). The condition of both is excellent, crisp and in round with no holes, dents or other damage.
