These fantastic truly medieval-looking early to middle 1800’s cast bronze prickets have hand-hammered/engraved and open work designs with an overall NATURAL deep, blackish green patina. Each measures 16” tall (13 7/8” without pricket) x 5 ½” across the applied foliate feet. The truncated cone bas with hammered chevron band and openwork trefoils is 4 ¼” in diameter and the bobeche with drilled wax ports is 3 ¾” in diameter. They are assembled using hammered/peened rivets ...and there are some expected bends at the feet and the top of the prickets: they don’t stand perfectly straight. You will note an area of slight patina loss on the base of one where the foot was impacted and the base slightly flexed.
