Description A beautiful early-dated Dutch antique 19th Century solid silver peppermint box in good condition and with full Dutch silver hallmarks for 1843. Lovely quality genuine 177 year old silver box, (definitely not modern re-productions); an attractive shape with a hinged si...lver lid and with nice bevelled corners. It is all over decorated with period prick/wriggle-work engraving and it weighs approx 21 grams. Engraved with a period monogram on the underside of the base.Measurements Measure approx 1.5 inches (38mm) x 1.25 inches (32mm) and is 1.45 inches (35mm) in height.Date Dutch antique 19th Century solid silver, with full Dutch silver hallmarks for 1843, (date letter "I"). Marks include the "Centurian" silver mark, a "lion looking to the right" and makers/region marks, "PC 114". Excellent clear struck marks. Condition Good condition with no nasty knocks or dents, just tiny little surface bruises on the base, really nothing much. Has a very tight seam split on one side edge, again nothing at all bad, (see last last for a close up shot). The silver lid hinge works perfectly and the lid opens and closes tightly and securely. Beautifully decorated and a nice early year date.
