Large French Petite Sonnerie quarter hour repeating carriage clock @ 1890. This is a very nice one owner clock that came out of an estate recently, where it was meticulously maintained. Please see my other auctions this week for another great carriage clock from this same estate. All beveled glasses are original and good. The extremely high quality and detailed case has an untouched original well worn patina which looks great. It's a very impressive case ...with a nicely stylized bale handle on top, and a nice mask which frames the dial. Great original porcelain dial is perfect with no damage. Great original hands. The 8 day quarter hour repeating movement is complete and intact and runs and strikes well. Movement looks to be in very good mechanical condition. It retains its original platform escapement, which appears to be in good undamaged condition with excellent action as it ticks. Strikes Petite Sonnerie on the quarter hours, Grande Sonnerie on the hour, and Grande Sonnerie is also struck any time the repeat button on top is pushed. Dimensions are: 7" tall with the handle up x 3 3/4" wide x 3 1/4" deep. Weighs in at 4 pounds. No reserve. USPS shipping in the continental USA will be $40.00.
