DANTE'S INFERNO and MILTON'S PARADISE LOST - Illustrated by Gustave Dore
Published in London in the late 1880s by Cassell and Co.
Leather bound with Gold Leaf edging on the pages of the books.
TWO VOLUMES - each book is 10"x13" and each book weighs approx 7.5lbs.
Total weight of the two books is 15lbs!
The books contain all the original illustrations by Gustave Dore for both
Paradise Lost and Dante's Inferno.
Each book has some exterior wear, such as... dogged corners,
and there is the tiniest bit of foxing on the fly page of one of the books.Otherwise, the pages are all in flawless condition. Even the frontispiece onion skin paper is intact and uncreased. Only the exterior leather binding has seen wear, and that is only on the corners of the spine.
Despite the issues with the dogeared spines,
these two books are in excellent condition.
