This is 2 original pamphlets, each with separate titles, paginations, although apparently issued together. As can be seen from the images, the pamphlets are separate/detached from each other. Each remain firmly held by remnants of their earlier bindings. A Schoole-Master, has 2 later blanks (browned/foxed) attached to the front of the pamphlet, and its title page is a little worn to the fore edge with a few small nicks/tears, and tiny repair to the top corner. There is a small ink number to the verso of the title page and there are a couple of small pencil and ink numbers to edges. The leaves of both pamphlets have a little browning/toning, and the odd small rust mark, else good, clean, and bright.
[A Schoole-Master, is not recorded in ESTC but cf. ESTC S107127 (with variant title page, "The exercise for yong artillery men", of which there are only 3 copies]
There are two lovely woodcuts in the first work.
Two very scarce works (one unrecorded with this title). Military instructions and guides to ready the country and its troops for war and invasion. They were printed in February 1642, when the country was on the brink of the First English Civil War.
