Rebound with leather spine and corner tips. Gilt titles to spine. Measuring approx. 18cm x 14cm x 1cm. Extremities lightly scuffed and there is a hint of a twist to spine. Internally there are more recent endpapers to front and rear, the front of which has some pencil detail. V...ery pale foxing/browning. Couple of small ink numbers to top of title page. Large number of blanks have been bound in to support integrity of the binding. Offsetting, else overall in mostly clean and firm condition for age.

That evening some troopes of Devonshire men, having glean'd a few more to them in their passage through Dorsetshire, had their Ammunition blowne up in our sight from the Castle....after their Robbery of a whole flocke of the Country Sheepe...some out-house of the Towne having beene set on fire though without other effect...…
Upon Munday they began to change their place, and to looke towards the Castle saluting it with many Gunnes from a remote Battery... kill one Horseman and to wound another
..advise of Master Hollis that they should fire the Towne and engage their Souldiers to them by the pillage of those Gent. Houses which were within the Castle
Tuesday in the evening they rose with their whole Army and marched to Evill
greater numbers of horse and foot than ours.. we expect their troops upon the hill
we cannot imagine the number of their slaine to be lesse that 60. Captain Digbies Troope alone having brought away 16 of their Horses
