This is a phenomenal seldom-seen antique turn of the century Edwardian era figural polychrome painted spelter metal Inkwell and humidor statue of a monk. The middle of the monk lifts away to reveal a removable brass insert perfect for holding p...ens or cigars. The head of the Monk also lifts off and at one time was hinged though the hinge is broken. The head of the monk would have lifted most likely to reveal a glass insert for an ink well which has long been misplaced. Overall a very unique and impressive figural Inkwell featuring an unusually large size and a nicely aged original finish. Overall size 9 in x 12 in
