Legendary Yamaha MX-1000 Amplifer nice condition AS IS Class AB 260 Watts NR. Condition is "For parts or not working". Shipped Fed Ex.
This unit was repaired/upgraded by the previous owner...as you can see the rear speaker terminals have been replaced with 5-way bindings and the front incandescent bulbs (originally yellow bulbs in orange jackets to give the color) were replaced with Orange/Red LED's.
I haven't opened up the unit, to check on how expertly these upgrades wer...e done. There is occasional noise on the A speakers channel, when the wires are wiggled/moved...wiggle them again and the noise stops. There is no noise on the B speakers or C speakers.
Admittedly, the original speaker jacks were a bit of a flaw in design, as they would be pushed against in shipping and had hard metal standoffs that would crush in if not well packed. They were also not accepting of banana plugs, etc. So, the 5 way jacks are an upgrade...but I don't know if there's a cold solder joint on the A speakers or something else afoot causing the occasional noise when wiggling the wires on the back.
These are great amps, with a clever Class A to a certain power, then switching to Class B afterwards type design. This one could use a professional going over it, recap, etc.
Because I can't vouch for the prior owner's upgrades, I'm listing this unit as a parts unit, as is. So, please bid accordingly.
It's a heavy sucker, so it'll be packed and shipped in a 18x12x24 inch box...weighing approx 40lbs. Local pickup is offered.
