Exceptional Antique French Porcelain Hinged Trinket Box, FloralMeasuring 4 1/4” wide, 3 I/8” deep and 2” HighWeight is 9.44 ouncesFaintly marked on bottom bisque edging “MADE IN FRANCE” in weak but legible block letters blue in color. Hinge appears to be bronze, is straight and shows no damage, mates both bottom and lid perfectly.Closes with a satisfying crisp click and remains closed. Magnifying glass inspection reveals textured hand painting of roses and surrounding li...ght and dark green leaves. Gold leaf border on top somewhat faded on the left end, but the gold on the sides is strong and saturated in color.All gold is over glazed.A lovely piece overall.
