Here is a rare antique pressed glass mug manufactured in 1896 for the campaign of William Jennings Bryan running for president against McKinley. William J Bryan, a democrat, ran for president three times and lost to McKinley twice and Taft once. The mug with matching lid was manufactured by McKee and Brothers and made of clear glass. The mug shows the likeness of William Bryan, with above his likeness the slogan "The Peoples Money", and below his likeness "Wm J Bryan".... The mug measures 3 1/2 inches tall (5 inches with the lid in place) by 4 inches wide which includes the handle. The mug is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or damage. The lid has a tiny flea bite on the rim, as well as an air bubble in the glass at the rim and a straw mark, which looks like a crack but does not go into the glass, located at the lid knob. The straw mark and air bubble are standardly found in old glass, but please look at the last to pictures closely. This historical mug is in super condition and wonderful for the historical presidential campaign collector. For more great glass, visit my eBay store.
