You are looking at a coin silver tablespoon made by J. C. Blackman. Blackman apprenticed with his father and then went into business with his brother. The mark on this spoon was an alternative mark, but it's not clear to me what years this mark was used. There was a different mark used when he was with his father, and another one used when he was with his brother. My nearest guess was that this was made around 1821, but I'm not positive. At any rate, early... to mid 1800's. The spoon is in good condition, but has a few small dents in the bowl. The J, on the stamp on the reverse is worn and difficult to see, but it is there.
