1895 GEM CDV-General Thomas "Stonewall "Jackson-30th Anniversary CDV commemorating the End of the War between the States. The General's Image has Photographic Lines. This was the New Imagery/Print Style of the Late 19th Century. This Technique was also used in Advertising Cards, Magazines & Fence Postings ( Circus is coming to town ! ) The Nostalgia that swept the Nation at the Turn of the 20th Century was not like what we do today. Glorify the Past without regard to what was the reali...ty of the situation. This is a Unique Example of this misplaced Patriotic Fever and yearning for those "Simpler Times".The CDV itself has Great Eye Appeal with Ornate Gold Trim and a Beautifully Embossed Portal View. There is Obverse Staining and a touch of Foxing on the Reverse. All 4 corners are sharp and intact. The Paper Sleeve Borders are Straight.These pieces are Desirable and Difficult to Find.
