M1 Garand Rear Hand Guard Early Springfield With Milled Grooved Clip WWII
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:359587 | Modified Item: No |
Country/Region of Manufacture: United States |
The hand guard has no cracks, no repairs, and appears to have never been sanded. The hand guard is brown in color. There are some dings and dents but not many as you can see in the images.
Included with the hand guard is an early milled hand guard clip, with groove. The clip is mostly without finish... and has slight rust in a portion of the groove. It appears that these two parts have been together for a very long time.
The inside of the hand guard is mostly very dark brown or black in color, from being in service.
An additional element of this hand guard is that the op rod clearance cut appears to be field cut. The area at the back on the right side lower corner is not cleanly cut as it would be if done by machine. This was common in very early production M1 Garands.

This is a very nice early Garand rear hand guard, can't be too many out there from this point in production.
