Stunning Antique Simon Halbig 1078 Fine Bisque Head Character Child Doll 30" / 76.5cmGerman Poupee - 1900sThis beautiful dolls fine bisque socket head is in very good condition. ( Has been light tested and is free of hairlines etc ) She has lovely blue glass sleep eyes with some real eyelashes but I have noted some eye wax is missing and possibly repainted. Her face paint is simply wonderful ( halbig at its finest ) with feathery eyebrows, upper and lower eyelashes and soft rosy cheek...s. Her sweet open mouth reveals 4 upper perfectly formed teeth. Both ears are pierced. and she is wearing aqua earrings. This mold has a delightful dimple in her chin and a slight but charming double chin. The back of her head is incised " 1078 // Germany // SIMON & HALBIG // S & H // 14". She has a nice long dark blonde human hair wig.She comes on a chunky ball jointed wood/composition body which is in generally very good condition for its age, just the the odd minor age related mark (see photos) Her hands have had some fingers rebuilt left hand middle finger, right hand middle and index fingers, both hands have been repainted ( see photos )She comes wearing antique clothes consisting of a lovely fine cotton lawn cream dress with embroidery front yoke detail, pin tucks and fine embroidery lace hemline and fine crochet lace around the neckline and cuffs. Underneath she has white cotton long pantaloons with pin tuck detail, cotton white plain apron and fine cotton cream vest with embroidery detail and embroidery scallop edges. Cream socks and antique cream leather shoes which have seen better days and falling apart.
