Large antique Raffaellesco pottery ewer with a serpentine handle. Deruta designs which are still copied on today's pottery cover the pitcher.
Exceptional condition for a rare old piece with slender snake handle.
Near mint with no chips, no cracks, no crazing, no hairlines and no repairs.
Original signature mark of sy I c. The first letter may be a stylized S with no y, followed by a large I and a c.
A circle of felt has been glued to the base for... continued protection. Also, the provenance of the former owner name is printed on the base. Both the felt and former owner's name can be removed.
Measures 21" in height and is 10" in diameter across the largest width.
