Featured in this auction is a magnificent cabinet vase made by Rookwood Pottery. The vase is in excellent, near-mint condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. This piece is just over 5" tall, 3-1/4" wide at the shoulder, and 2" wide at the top rim opening. The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 2109 and the production year XXV (1925). This ovoid-shaped vase features a flared r...im and a geometric arts-and-crafts motif that encircles the shoulder. This gorgeous glaze is a rich, matte mauve or mulberry underglaze with a slightly darker overdrip that has curdled beautifully on the vase. The piece shows only very minor scuffing from gentle use. It's very clean both inside and out. Check out all 8 photos! This stunning vase exhibits great Mission design and would look amazing in your favorite display cabinet. It would also be perfect for any Rookwood or American art pottery collector. Check out my other pottery listings!
