Featured in this auction is a magnificent flower or cabinet vase made by Rookwood Pottery. The vase is in excellent, near-mint condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. This piece is 6-1/4" tall, 3" wide at the base, and 1-3/4" wide at the top rim opening. The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 2111 and the production year XXX (1930). Rookwood's 50th Anniversary mark is also impres...sed into the base. The vase features a sleek, gently-tapering body with an arts-and-crafts motif of bellflowers encircling the neck. This gorgeous glaze is a soft, matte rosy pink or light rose underglaze with a green overspray that has curdled beautifully on the piece. This glaze color combination was one of the most popular that Rookwood produced in the 1920s and into the 1930s. There are some minor glaze skips visible inside the top rim and a couple of very-minor scuffs near the base from gentle use. This is a stunning example of American art pottery in near-pristine condition. It is very clean both inside and out. Check out all 8 photos! This gorgeous vase would look amazing in your favorite display cabinet. It would also be perfect for any Rookwood or American art pottery collector. Check out my other pottery listings!
