Featured in this auction is a stunningly beautiful, vintage Rookwood Pottery cabinet bowl from the early arts-and-crafts era. This piece has a round, footed design with water lilies or lotus flowers, buds and leaves encircling the shoulder of the bowl. This bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, overall crazing and no repairs. There is some light peppering and pinholes in the glaze with minor scuffing and residual mineral staining inside the bow...l from gentle use. The piece is approximately 2-3/4" tall, 6-1/2" wide at the shoulder, and 4-1/2" wide at the rim opening. Although partially obscured by the thick glaze, the base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 1351 and the production year which I believe is XI (1911). This gorgeous glaze is a thick, matte yellow-ochre underglaze with a green overspray. The bowl is otherwise pretty clean both inside and out. Check out all 9 photos! This sweet little cabinet piece would be perfect for any Rookwood or American art pottery collector. Check out my other pottery listings!
