Featured in this auction is a beautiful, miniature antique Rookwood Pottery cabinet bowl from the Mission era. This piece has an arts-and-crafts shape with an undulating wave design encircling the bowl. This exceptional bowl is in excellent condition with only very-minor scuffing and slight staining from gentle use. There are no chips, no cracks, overall even crazing, and no repairs. The piece is approximately 2" tall, 4-1/2" wide at the sho...ulder, and 3-1/2" wide at the rim opening. The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 2130 and the production year XVI (1916). The stilt marks are visible on the base. This gorgeous glaze color is a matte dusty-blue underglaze with a darker-blue (almost crystalline) overspray that has curdled beautifully on the piece. This gorgeous little bowl is otherwise very clean both inside and out. Check out all 8 photos! This lovely little cabinet piece would be perfect for any Rookwood or American art pottery collector.
