ANTIQUE 15K GOLD TEMPLE OF VESPASIAN MICRO MOSAIC BROOCH c1870
An antique solid 15 carat gold (tests thereabouts) mounted micromosaic set in red glass, depicting the Arch of Septimus Severus, the three surviving columns of the Temple of Vespasian, and to its right, the Temple of Saturn.Very high quality, so collectable & wearable too! CONDITION: All original and very good. Slightest signs of wear commensurate with age and use. A couple of small cracks to glass edges. Mini...mal tesserae loss, see pics. Pin fittings old replacements, some old solder visible, easily improved. DATE/MARKS: Around 1870/80. Not marked. DIMENSIONS: 28 x 24 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter. WEIGHT: Approx. 6.4 grams. Click here to view our other items.
