An quantity of original copperplate, engraved maps of COUNTY DURHAM (approximately 32 including some duplicates). Most are 18th and early 19th century in date and the majority are uncoloured. All the maps are unframed and unmounted. The maps include examples by Van den Keere (17th century), Kitchin, Hogg, Fullerton, Cary, Creighton, Hinton, Cassells, Archer, Leigh, Roper, Heywood and others. One or two maps are trimmed and some have small marginal tears, but the vast majority are... in very good condition (NB the photos show less than half the maps in the lot).
