The most wonderful antique purse...marked inside frame made in France sterling...the fabric part of the bag is a fine petit point tapestry with courting lovers in a French scene on the front and a French scene on the back with castle and urn with roses...the work is exquisite...the sterling frame is magnificent with dancing winged putti, doves and torches...silk lining inside...in nice original condition over all...there are a few places on the tapestry where the stitches are coming ap...art...I'm sure this could be fixed by a skilled seamstress...the frame is in great condition with the push pin opening at the top in good working order...the silk lining is in good condition...the fabric area of the bag measures about 8" by 8 1/4" and is about 15 1/2" long with chain doubled...such a rare find in this condition for its age and a gorgeous work of art!
