The most wonderful French antique purse...from the early 1900's...the fabric is a fine Aubusson petit point tapestry with courting lovers in a French garden on the front and a French garden scene on the back with an urn, roses and trees...the work is exquisite...the frame is magnificent with enamel flowers and colored stones set in the art Nouveau etched brass...silk lining inside...in nice condition over all considering age and use...there are a few places on the tapestry where the th...reads have opened up a bit...the original silk lining is tattered and and worn...there is a little matching change purse attached with a chain inside...the frame is in good condition with one of the pearls missing and slight chipping to enamel flowers...certainly nothing that takes away from the beauty of the purse...the bag itself measures about 7 1/2" by 7 1/2" and is about 15" long with the chain...such a gorgeous work of art to use or to add to any collection!
