Title:1871 Bingley's Natural HistoryDescription:Presented for your consideration is this early edition of Bingley's Natural History. The book was written by Rev. W. Bingley and published in 1871 by C.F. Vent in Cincinnati and New York. The 1042 page book is an encyclopedia of information on various types of animals including mammals, fishes, birds, insects and reptiles. Each animal is pictured in black and white with either a paragraph or page full of information about the pictured ani...mal. Over 1000 engravings are present throughout the book including a illustration of various bird species which sits opposite the title page. All pages appear to be intact and free of damage outside of some very light foxing. The book is completed with a green hardcover with gold embossing on the front cover and spine. Page binding is tight. This interesting book would make a great read for anyone interested in animals/zoology! A nice book to add to any antique book collection!
The first page and title page are loose from the binding. An inscription is on the inside front cover. Light foxing. Some wear is along the ends of the spine covering and where the covers meet the spine. Typical wear from age and reading. Overall in GOOD-VERY GOOD condition for its age. Measures 9 1/4" long, 7" wide and 2 3/8" thick.
