The blade is in Near MINTcondition and the fittings are in Excellentcondition including a RARE sayawith double hangers. It is ahealthy sword and has a blade length of 27.25 inches (69cm). The blade featuresa lightweight design with a narrow and thin blade and correspondinglynarrow and thin mounts. The blade is of arsenal manufacture featuring an etched gunomehamon. The tang is mumei, or unsigned. These lightweight shin guntoswere used by high ranking army officers for dress occasions. They are a veryscarce version of shin gunto, and this model features the even more rare Type94 configuration with extra hanger on the saya.The mountings are the rarehigh end and early Type 94 ShinGunto and in Excellentcondition. The tsuka is silk-cord wrapped with cherry blossom menuki. There issome fraying and one small wrap missing. The tsuba is classic WW2 with fouraccompanying metal seppa. The saya (scabbard) is brown painted metal. It is in MINTY condition showing no dents, andjust a few scratches and areas of missing finish, retaining roughly 97-98% original finish. Thefurniture on the saya include the extra hanger that has the ability to be unscrewedand taken off. The blade is in NearMINT condition. There are no nicks, little to no rust, and just a few scratchesalong the blades length. There are no major flaws like hagire. Given the condition, scarcityof lightweight swords, and rarity of the Type 94 mounts, I highlyrecommend this sword for a collector of WW2 militaria or Japanese swords.Terms and additional items: This item is original and not aknockoff or fake.
