Seeing many people are home this year we decided to host a large two-week holiday special estate auction! We have been working hard over the last month putting together several amazing estate collections that we will be offering over the next month....
Joanies is excited to be offering two large family estate collections. The first family lived in Shanghai and came to Canada c1932, the second family in c1960 bring a vast amount of family items with them at the time so the provenance is very good. We have offered a large amount of items from the second family’s collection already that brought great interest. We thought this estate was complete until we got a call that the garage was also full of boxes packed away and never opened since 1960! This is now for certain the last estate sale from the family.
Over the past 20 years Joanies has hosted Hundreds of estate auctions, auctioning upwards of one hundred thousand fine estate items during this time. And during this entire time, Joanie's has Never had a Reserve on one item ever! We take great pride in only offering fine quality and authentic fresh to market estate items that we know have been with families for decades or generations. Up for auction is a RARE c1730 CHINESE IMPERIAL YONGZHENG MARK & PERIOD FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN BOWLS. Part of a large two-day estate collection being offered this week. A unique and extremely rare pair of Imperial Yongzheng Mark & Period famille rose porcelain bowls. The bowls have a unique period design with rich famille rose enamel colors. The decor is very similar to large punch bowls and what would be found on larger vase shoulders of the period. The bases also have auspicious precious object designs. The interiors are turquoise enamelled throughout as seen. The bowls are superbly and thinly potted of a pure white highly translucent porcelain. We have included a few outdoor natural light images. The bowls has finely written Yongzheng six-character base marks within double circles and are Fully Guaranteed to be of the period.
We have personally never seen examples with this unique decor design, leading us to believe the bowls are very unique and likely extraordinary rare finds. As our estate auctions have run for close to 20 years here online the bowls are being offered Without Reserve. Very best of luck to everyone with interest! Joanies
Condition: Estate-fresh, the bowls have extensive wear and hard water staining to the interiors and rims as seen. It's possible the bowls could be further cleaned/restored if desired, but we like to offer all our items as we find them. The bowls themselves are in overall good condition with no porcelain chips cracks or repairs. Both bowls both ring nicely when lightly tapped with finger. UV light also reveals no hidden damage.
