Remarkable Early 1920s De Forest Single Audion Radio.
Item History & Price

This set is an early 1920s De Forest or De Forest-style single tube Audion-detector radio. On a search of the internet and my references, I can't find any similar appearing model made by De Forest, so it may be a homebrew made using De Forest parts, but it also has one of their metal labels. The tube is a single wing Audion in working condition that I think is a modern reproduction (but I'm not certain). It has a large 1920s wound wire and porcelain potentiometer mounted on one side. I checked the wiring and it should work as a radio with Audion detector, but I've never hooked up the set to see if it works because I only wanted it as a display piece and it looks wonderful on display. It has always been a great conversation starter. The set measures 11x9x14.5" (high) and weighs 8 lbs.

Payment is due within 3 days of the auction's close or I will cancel the sale and leave negative feedback. It's heavy so shipping will be a flat $50 based on my estimate of the actual shipping/insurance costs for USPS ground (or possibly Priority depending on where the winner lives), based on weight and size. If you want it shipped Priority Mail, let me know after the sale and I will tell what the additional fee will be, if any. For most of these radios and accessories, I cannot combine shipping due to the size and weight of each radio. I will only ship to the USA, Canada, Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. Other bidders will be cancelled. If you live near Woodbridge, Virginia or will be in the area, I strongly encourage local pickup.
