Impressive, "museum quality" early crystal radio wireless set dating to 1922 or 1923. The "Varoto" manufactured by the Varoto Company of London. Large breadboard type measuring 15 x 10 inches. Brass fittings. Original galena crystal cats whisker detector. Original capacitor / condenser mounted on breadboard. Oversized tubular tuning coil with two sliders. Terminals for one pair of headphones and aerial, antenna and earth, ground.Good, all-or...iginal condition - see photos.A rare example (only one I have ever seen) of a radio from the dawn of domestic radio broadcasting in the home. Almost 100 years old! All complete. I see no reason why this could not be working, but it is sold as a collector's display item.
