Original Description:
This is a good example of a rare and seldom encountered U.S. Civil War USMC NCO Sword, Model 1840 which remains in untouched, uncleaned, "attic" condition. It is mounted with a blade that measures 32 1/4 inches in length that remains in "uncleaned" original condition as well with only surface staining but no pitting. The brass guard has also developed a rich aged patina and is in original condition as well. Overall measuring 38 1/2 inches in length. The scabbard has been lost along th...e way.
