Very old Aboriginal Woomera, Spear Thrower, part of an old Queensland museum collection, as can be seen on the old label on one of the pictures.
Similar to an atlatl, it serves as an extension of the human arm, enabling a spear to travel at a greater speed and force than possible with only the arm.
I purchased the item, together with other items that are now available on Ebay, for a mobile art exhibition about aboriginal culture. The exhibition has now ended and I no lon...ger need the artifacts.
