Piero Fornasetti Porcelain Smoking Set Vintage 3 Piece Table Lighter, Ashtray, Cigarette Holder Signed Rare and absolutely beautiful complete 3 piece Piero Fornasetti mid-century modern smoking set. Set includes a table lighter, ashtray and cigarette holder. The set is beautifully made of fine glazed porcelain with Fornasetti's very decorative and attractive iconic black and white checkered motif that looks like elegant Italian marble tile! It is bordered on the top and botto...m by bands of luxurious gold gilding. Made in Milan, Italy. The underside of each piece has the Fornasetti mark. Two of the pieces have a separate hand painted letter "F" in gold. The vintage brass table lighter insert is removable and was made in the USA by the Evans Case Company. Approx. measurements: table lighter - 4" x 4" x2", ashtray - 6" x 3 1/2" x 1 1/2", cigarette holder -4" x 2 3/4" x 2". Each piece in this set is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The finish is still in beautiful condition, but there is some gold wear/loss in places, primarily on the ashtray rim and a bit on the lighter. Also a bit of wear on the bottoms of the pieces, all of which is consistent with age and use. Please see photos for more details. The refillable Evans lighter needs a flint and lighter fluid. I am unable to say if the lighter is functioning as it was not tested. A rare and stunningly elegant vintage Piero Fornasetti work of art!
