ONE SIDE HAS A SNAKE AND THE OTHER SIDE HAS 5 SIMILAR MOTIFS - I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THESE REPRESENT AS IT IS NOT A COMMONLY USED ABORIGINAL SYMBOL.
THE BOOMERANG APPEARS TO HAVE SEEN SOME USE AS IT HAS CHIPS AND WEAR TO BOTH TIPS AND ALSO ON THE TOP CENTRAL CURVE (SEE PICS).
I AM UNSURE WHAT REGION THIS BOOMERANG COMES FROM BUT IT IS PART OF A COLLECTION OF TRIBAL AND ABORIGINAL ITEMS PURCHASED A NUMBER OF YEARS AGO FROM THE FAMILY OF AN EX MILTARY MAN WHO SERVED IN NEW GUINEA AT THE END OF WWII AND TRAVELLED EXTENSIVELY THROUGHOUT AUSTRALIA.
THE ITEMS WERE ALL COLLECTED BETWEEN THE 1940s-1970s
THE BOOMERANG MEASURES AROUND 60CM FROM TIP TO TIP.
