Vintage Sheffield Day - Date 5 ATM Diver W/Pristine Dial, Massive Case, Runs Strong

This vintageSheffield day-date diver has a black concentric "T SWISS MADE A1"signed dial that is in mint condition, free of any visibly noticeablescratching, tool marks, chipping or defects. The original lume onthe dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a quick-burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a perfectly matching pistachio hue. The bezel, whichrotates smoothly bidirectionally, looks good. The beautifully cut chrome-plated... case is in excellent condition with the exception of some minor brassing. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "SWISS MADE WATERPROOF SHOCKRESISTANT STAINLESS STEEL BACK" with "GUARANTEED 5 ATM." and "TESTED" stamped in the center. Thecrystal shows scratching. While I normally show movements of watches I put up for sale the case back on this one is torqued too tight for me to remove. The manual wind movement with quickset date function runs strong, keeps accurate time and both the day and date wheels roll over as they should at approximately 12 am. The quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 21.5 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After recently winding the sharply threaded crown 39 full revolutions (excellent for a manual wind) themovement had an impressive power reserve of approximately 41 hours. Although the movement runs strong and keeps accurate time considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is recommended.
This watch measures approximately 40 mm without the crown, approximately 43.5 mmincluding the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Casethickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measuresapproximately 10.5 mm.
Although the movement runs strong and keeps accurate time considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.
