This is a Japanese Meiji to WWll Army officer`s sword in kyugunto mountings. The blade is signed "Inshu ju Kanesaki 因州住兼先", suriage, shinogi-zukuri shape, Edo period ca.1650 era made family blade. The blade is in old polish, shows fine scratches but no rust and in used condition. The temper line is wavy chusuguba temper and has deep temper at the point. Forg...ing grain is tight itame hada, no opening, and no flaws. There is no bend, no nick, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. The scabbard is chromed metal scabbard, shows light surface oxidations, tiny dent but no bend and in good condition. The handle is tight fit with silver family mon on back straps, large size brass wire wrapping is not presented. Lock mechanism works fine. It measures 27+5/8" cutting edge, 1+1/16" width, 5.5 mm thickness at the notch and 38+1/2" in mountings. Shipping is $25 priority in U.S. No international shipping.
