This brass microscope has "R & J Beck, London" and the serial number "5583" embossed in to the base.There are no cracks or chips to the brass that I can find and it has retained much of its' black finish coating, however, the lacquering is tarnished in places, as well as the usual scuffs, wear marks and scratches that you expect from a well used item of this age.The draw tubes move up and down smoothly with its' rack and pinion mechanism.The fine focus wheel appears to be working.The ...mirror is free from any cracks or chips, however, there is some loss of silvering in places.All of the stage adjustments work smoothly and the rotating overstage moves as it should.The microscope has an eyepiece and two objectives on a rotating nose piece.The microscope folds up and down well.The microscope measures approximately 36 cm (14 1/4 inches) tall un-extended in it's upright position.The microscope is sold as a collectors item and we have not tested it for clarity of image. Microscope.This brass microscope has "R & J Beck, London" and the serial number "5583" embossed in to the base.
