Antique Royal Worcester Parian Ware Porcelain MRS HADLEY'S Hand Vase c. 1864-5Rare antique 19th century Royal Worcester Parian hand vase designed by James Hadley. This vase was and allegedly modelled on the hand of Hadley's wife. Her hand is supporting a Grecian urn.
The interior and exterior of the vase has a glazed finish. The urn is decorated with a black swirl band underneath a red band. The bracelet is accented with a black wavy line on top and the bracelet itself is colored br...ight red with turquoise beads at the center.
Marked with an impressed crown and wheel mark for Royal Worcester to the base and an English diamond registration mark.Condition: In very good preowned condition with some minor wear consistent to age. No cracks, hairlines or crazing. Red band near the urn's rim shows some areas of discoloration (see picture #5). Also, this piece does not have a flared out rim on the urn. Unsure if this was production variation. If there are any other minor flaws, they are natural from the making. Comes as found, as made and as seen. Approximate measurements:

It was developed around 1845 by the Staffordshire pottery manufacturer Mintons, and named after Paros, the Greek island renowned for its fine-textured, white Parian marble, used since antiquity for sculpture.
