A really interesting and relatively uncommon original, copper-plate engraved antique 'Plan of the Temple of Jerusalem, Built by King Solomon as it is found recorded in the Books of Kings and Chronicles', engraved by Emmanuel Bowen and published in 'An Universal History from the Earliest Account of Time' (Vol. 4), in London in 1747.
This large plan is accompanied by an 'Explanation' and a scale of cubits. It measures approximately 410mm x 405mm, blank verso.
Condition re...port: Good overall condition; light age toning; trimmed close to neatline on three sides; small 2cm closed tear at the right edge of the sheet where it was bound into its original publication; some creasing at the lower right edge of the sheet; some faint offsetting; small spot at lower left corner of the sheet. There are multiple original folds to enable the plan to fit within the source publication. Please study the photographs carefully.
