The HeintzArt Metal Shop began in 1906 in Buffalo, N.Y. They were makers of fine metalobjects of the Arts and Crafts era (1900-1920).
This Love Bird Desk Set is a fine example of theirwork.This deskset is called "Sterling Silver Lovebird Overlay on Dark BrownBronze". The complete set includes a pen tray, letter opener, rockerblotter and a letter rack w/perpetual calendar and ink well. The inkwell doesnot have the Heintz makers mark, but we know it is a Heintz piece be...cause theletter rack calendar piece is marked and this pattern is documented inreference books on Heintz productions. ANTIQUE MISSION - ARTS & CRAFTS PERIOD, "GORGEOUS FIVE PIECE CIRCA 1912 HEINTZ. ARTISTICPATTERN STERLING SILVER DESIGNED DESK SET, IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. ALL PIECES ARE SOLID, THICK, STURDY, STRONG, AND WELL MADEANTIQUE HEINTZ!! THEY HAVE NO BREAKS, DAMAGE, OR REPAIRS! THEY HAVE NORMAL WEAR AND THEY ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL DARK BRONZE AGED FINISH & PATINA ON THIS LOVE BIRD DESK SET. IT HAS NOT BEEN POLISHED.
