Antique 19th century German or Austrian Vienna bronze figural paperweight or sculpture resembling a bird grappling with a snake.
Hallmarks: Base is stamped "2746 Geschutzt". I have seen other figures with the "2746" mark attributed to Franz Bergman but I cannot find his maker's mark on this piece.
Dimensions: Length 4" x Width 3" x Height 2 1/2".
Weight: 9.5 oz.
Condition: Very good antique condition with light wear and minor soiling. Areas of discoloration or patina to met...al that suggest red, gold, and verdigris colors but does not look like it was cold painted.
