Today we are happy to offer for sale a wonderful antique painted cast iron fisherman doorstop! This iconic and heavy (over 6 lbs) New England style piece is nicely crafted of cast iron and depicts a friendly bearded mariner fisherman wearing a brown hat, yellow raincoat and pants, and holding a fishing net. The piece is un-marked but undoubtedly the work of the Hubley foundry. Doorstop presents very well and is in very good antique condition, with wear, patina, and minor loss to paint...ed finish commensurate with age and type of use. This is a great opportunity to own a whimsical nautical door stop which will add old Cap Cod style to any interior! Fresh to the market!
