DESCRIPTION: Ornate cast bronze box with wood lined interior. Exterior features ornate relief designs and a scene of Danish King Valdemar during the Battle of Lyndanisse in 1219. The interior of the lid has a brief description of the legend, in both Danish and English, under a banner reading "15.Juni Anno 1219 June15th". Back is marked "Iron Arts Copenhagen Denmark". Made circa late 1940s. Has one small repair to handle - see below.
CONDITION: (See All Phot...os) - Left handle has a repair to lower bar where it broke at the corner - has been repaired with metal glue - repair is not easily noticeable. Areas of patina to bronze. Right handle is intact but does not move due to patina formation. No issues to box. Light wear to interior wood from age - possibly from manufacture. Sits perfectly flat - no wobble.
