This is a 26 inch Martha Chase hospital baby. Has open nostrils and Chase mark under left arm. (Chase Hospital Doll Pawtucket R. I. Made in USA). Dolls were made of cloth and painted all over with oil paints. Beautiful matching hat and dress with a lot of cut-out work on it. Stockings are actually a baby's old cotton stockings. Applied ears and belly button. Head is perfect except for small rub on upper lip. Could easily be touched up. Gorgeous... blue eyes with red and white dots and a lot of upper eyelashes. 2 small paint rubs off 2 fingers of right hand and rubs off cloth where arms and legs are jointed. The rest is good. Finger and toenails still have their pink paint. Doll weighs what a baby would weigh. They were called hospital dolls because they used them for practice in hospitals. This is why they have open nostrils and are the weight of a baby. Doll weighs 5#. Dress has one slit in front skirt and several thin places. Chair not included.
