Antique brass mortar & pestle #3 apothecary tool or kitchen spice grinder. Shipped with USPS Parcel Select Ground.
This brass mortar (3" tall) & pestle (5.5" long) has been well used in its life. It has an old patina with the imperfections of small dents and scratches. The numeral "3" is stamped into the underside of the mortar and into the shaft of the pestle. On one end of the pestle there is a small divot out of the grinding face. On the shaft of that same half of the pe...stle there is a concentration of other blemishes (tiny casting voids or impurities?). Time and origin of manufacture unknown. There is no discernible foundry mark or maker mark.
